Quantity Surveyor required in Bedfordshire

 

GVR Solutions are currently representing a well-established main contractor based in Bedfordshire whom are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their established and dynamic team. Over the past few years, they have become a highly regarded contractor who specialise in Fit out and Refurbishment projects.
They work on projects across London and the Southeast with values up to £5m.

 

Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:

  • To prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the Client
  • Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake the necessary feasibility studies
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control
  • Advise as necessary on Procurement strategies depending on the job
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to any commercial risk
  • Ensure that the business has a robust and defendable position by adhering to contract specific requirements
  • Liaise with site teams and Contracts Management to ensure site are aware of commercial restraints
  • Source and allocate work to suitable sub-contractors
  • Provide advice on contractual terms and issue subcontractor orders as necessary
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  • Value completed works and arrange for payment as necessary
  • Maintain awareness of different contracts in use
  • Understand the implications of Health, Safety and Environmental Management

 

The Quantity Surveyor will:

  • Have a practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking.
  • Show a creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to write clear and precise reports and have the ability to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
  • Have a detailed knowledge of past and current building technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters.
  • Participate in continuous self-development.
