GVR Solutions are working with a well-established specialist carpentry & joinery contractor based in Kent is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their growing commercial team. Working across a range of high-quality residential, commercial and fit-out projects, this role will involve preparing accurate and competitive tenders for carpentry and joinery packages.

Responsibilities of the Estimator:

• Estimating/Tender preparation & co-ordinate the response and internal settlement process.
• Create a Tender return pack of Information ensuring that all completed tender documents and associated attachments are completed correctly with a submittal letter and index recording that all the Tender Return Documentation is in place and issued “Prior” to or no later than the tender return date.
• Engage the appropriate team members in the tender process to support winning outcomes.
• Upon successful outcomes, arrange and lead hand-over of construction documentation to the delivery team.
• Ensuring all documentation is ready on time for client meetings, mid or post tender presentations with appropriate preparation in place for team attendees.
• Ensure compliance to Building Regulations, Planning Regulations, Building Control Legislations and Safety Building Act requirements.
• Ensure that pre-contract and on contract award that the Contracts are thoroughly checked, comments made, discussed and agreed with client representative and Commercial Director and returned as part of either the tender return or as part of the sub-contract.
• Assessing and interpreting client briefs. If not ask and seek clarity.
• Co-ordination of any design requirements and sub-contractor inputs to ensure design costs are identified and input into bid documentation.
• Preparing documentation for presentations to clients.
• Formatting and managing pre-contract programme and engaging Operations team in any programme requirements.
• Presenting pre-contract cost documents to prospective clients.
• Ensure drawings are accurately taken off and based on dimensional site surveys.
• Accurate briefing and handover to the delivery team of pre-contract documentation, such as relevant drawings, spreadsheet, specifications, Health and Safety documentation/information, logistics, programme, methodology, allowances and other supporting information.
• Lead and co-ordinate with the team in prospective Client presentations.
• To ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety within the company, including adherence of all legal requirements.
• To comply with all company policies and procedures that relate to anti bribery, quality, environment and health and safety.
