At GVR Building Services, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join a leading housing maintenance team on a permanent basis.
This Operations Supervisor role offers an excellent opportunity to lead the day-to-day delivery of a responsive repairs and maintenance service, ensuring works are completed safely, compliantly, and right first time. The successful Operations Supervisor will oversee operational teams, drive customer satisfaction, manage budgets, and ensure all works meet current legislation and industry standards.
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Operations Supervisor with a strong background in housing maintenance, repairs, and compliance who can effectively lead teams while delivering exceptional customer service.
As an Operations Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the day-to-day delivery of responsive repairs and maintenance services across housing stock and communal areas
- Managing and developing a multi-skilled operational team
- Ensuring all works comply with health & safety legislation, NICEIC requirements, and statutory regulations
- Monitoring budgets and ensuring works are correctly allocated within internal management systems
- Managing certification, compliance records, and service administration
- Working closely with Building Safety and Health & Safety teams
- Supporting the management of the 24-hour out-of-hours service on a rota basis
- Driving customer satisfaction through high-quality service delivery
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational performance and efficiency
To be considered for this Operations Supervisor role, candidates should have:
- Proven experience managing responsive repairs or housing maintenance teams
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent knowledge of housing maintenance and repairs
- Good understanding of current housing legislation and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of one or more of the following:
- Electrical safety
- Fire safety
- Gas safety
- Asbestos
- Legionella
- CDM 2015
- Plumbing
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
